The North Loop neighborhood has always been an important part of the Central community of Minneapolis. Commonly known as the Warehouse District, the North Loop includes the Minneapolis Warehouse Historic District which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Today the North Loop offers tremendous housing opportunities in an eclectic, vibrant community of artists and art lovers.

Originally a commercial hub and industrial center during the late 1800s and early 1900s, the North Loop fell into disrepair with the decline of the industrial boom. In the 1970s, artists began moving into the North Loop because they were looking for low rents and large spaces for art projects. The large, abandoned industrial buildings of the North Loop offered the space and low rents that many artists were looking for. Thus began the transformation of the North Loop into the incredible neighborhood it is currently.

Some of the historic buildings now feature award-winning arts, entertainment, fine dining, and specialty shops. In an ideal location, the North Loop is located between downtown Minneapolis and the Mississippi River.
